ITM University is included in the list of universities maintained by University Grants Commission under section - 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.

Established by the State Government

ITM University Gwalior has been notified in the Gazette (Extra-ordinary) of the state Govt. On 04th May, 2011 and scheduled in the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Avam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam, 2007 (No. 17 of 2007).

Approval by AICTE

As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions which are affiliated to Universities require approval. As ITM University is a University established by a State Act, it does not require AICTE approval. This standing of law is notified in the case of Bharathidasan University Vs AICTE.
